Co-operation among Co-operators: The Irish- British Connection – Conference
Conference Dates: the 21st and 22nd February 2025
Venue: Boundary Brewing Co-op, Belfast
The UK Society for Co-operative Studies and the Society for Co-operative Studies Ireland are thrilled to invite you to a landmark event. This is a big moment for the co-operative movement across our islands! And we are delighted that this event is taking place in Belfast at the Boundary Brewing Co-operative. What a way to start the year on co-operation!
2025 has been declared the International Year of Co-operatives with the theme “Co-operatives Build a Better World.” This is a unique chance for us to share co-operative knowledge and insights from Ireland and Britain, and to highlight the important role our movement plays.
We’ve got some amazing speakers lined up, including:
- Connor Murphy MLA, the Minister for the Economy
- Cliff Mills from Anthony Collins Solicitors, an expert in co-operative law
- Linda Ervine MBE, founder of Turas, an Irish Language project in East Belfast
Plus, many other contributors from across the island will discuss why co-operatives are still so important for society, the economy, and the environment.
