Co-operatives and the Local Economy in NI

During the webinar ‘Co-operatives and the Local Economy in Northern Ireland’ on the 29th September 2020,  Ellie Perrin presented new research on why we need a shift in local economic development:

– the current policy framework and the opportunities it offers

– what can co-op do and what barriers they face

– how can we better support the development of a co-operative economy

With continue the discussion with two local case studies, Neil Woolsey from Ballymacash Sports Academy and Richard Higginson from Loveworks Worker Co-operative.

We concluded the seminar with a discussion on what type of support co-operatives need during their development.
