We collect information in order to register you as a member of Co-operative Alternatives, to receive a message through our Contact form, to register for an event or to sign up to our newsletter.
The purpose will be explicitly stated on the page that the form exists. We do not share this information with any third party for marketing purposes or use it other than the purpose explicitly stated.

We do not retain your data on our website, your information will be sent by email to us and we will use it for the length of your membership of Co-operative Alternatives, until a brief period after an event has been held, or for as long as we remain in contact with you.
What rights you have over your data
We store your data for the purposes of maintaining your membership of Co-operative Alternatives, to facilitate event management for an event that you wish to attend, to send you newsletters with your consent or to return contact if you have sent us a message. You retain the right to request all of the personally identifiable information (PII) that we hold about you. You also retain the right to ask that this data is removed immediately. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How we use analytics
We use analytics software on our site because we want to understand how it is being used. This helps us to better develop content and functionality for the users.
This software makes use of a very basic cookie that allows us to measure frequentation of the site. You, the user, always have control over the cookies you allow in the settings of your web browser. You can read, refuse or destroy them at any time.
In order to analyse site traffic, we use Matomo, free and open source software that is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation enshrined in EU law. It is fully respectful of your privacy, and our use of this software (as opposed to the more intrusive and abusive Google Analytics used by most sites) means that we are not obliged to pester you with pop-up messages asking you to permit the use of cookies.
